Lucien Clergue’s photograph Nu au bois flotté brings bare skin together with driftwood. It inspires Bois Naufragé, a fig-tree fragrance in which salt crystals and ambergris nuances give the wood a mineral character.

This woody fougère centres on an Egyptian fig-tree accord, accompanied by mint and vetiver. The fig tree suggests wood washed ashore, rather than the sweetness of ripe fruit. Sea salt and ambergris impressions make the combination salty and mineral while preserving aromatic freshness.

Bois Naufragé explores a drier, more restrained fig than milky or sweet interpretations. Mint supplies freshness, while vetiver maintains the definition of the wood. The atmosphere is closer to sea-washed timber and skin than an orchard: fresh, salty and gently melancholic.
