The roses of Isparta are gathered while still half open, their rich scent carrying a lightly spicy edge. That Turkish rose-growing region lends its name to a fragrance in which the flower meets woody darkness and the smoke of burning resins.

Isparta is a full-bodied fruity rose with patchouli and pronounced woody nuances. Red fruits, benzoin, calamus and Ambroxan form a velvety, animalic accompaniment. Resinous smoke darkens the floral impression without displacing the rose, while the fruit enriches it rather than creating a simple berry-sweet perfume.

The character rests on the tension between lush rose and the more sombre presence of resin and patchouli. This is not the lightness of dewy petals: the flower is sensual, substantial and faintly melancholic. Isparta retains a recognisable rose at its core, but gives it the enveloping warmth and darker contours of a contemporary chypre.
